| The SVP Diary 2007 started on the 5th of January when 598 guests sat down to their Annual Christmas Party. Starting with drinks on arrival – homemade soup – turkey – roast potatoes – veg and all the trimmings. Entertainment provided.
On the 1st of May we all enjoyed a Fish and Chip Supper - the main purpose of this is to bring together people who have health issues, to get out and mix. The ‘Buzz’ is great to hear and it is such a happy evening – entertainment provided and a great sing-a-long. Our Diary is full from June to December.
But there are two faces to the SVP. The one you see as in gatherings and the one you don’t see – into the isolated and the lonely, suffering in silent poverty behind lace curtains and a smart new council door – we give support here also.
We are an active Conference thirteen in number, eleven of which are ladies who throw themselves whole heartedly into the tasks to keep the show on the road. But we do need MAN POWER – So if you have some time to spare, consider giving the SVP a go!
